Vernetta (Vee) Marie Schlosser, 63, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010, at the Cheyenne Healthcare Center.

Vernetta was born August 18, 1946, in Mott, North Dakota, a daughter of the late Valentine and Veronica (Emmil) Schlosser.

Following graduation from high school, Vernetta enlisted in the United State Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. She later worked in the Civil Service as an education technician for the United States Department of Defense and continued as a Civil Service worker until her retirement. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed her time in Europe. She will be remembered for leading an adventurous life even though Multiple Sclerosis made it difficult for her as she grew older.

Vernetta is survived by her daughter, Nanci Gainsforth of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, Larry Schlosser and wife, Delores, of Mott, ND, and Virgil Schlosser and wife, Carol, of Mott, ND; and her sister, Venita Mattis and husband, Ray, of Hettinger, ND; and a dear friend, Virginia Wheeler, of Cheyenne, WY.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Vivan Moe, also of Mott, ND.

Vernetta certainly lived a full and interesting life. Her strength never failed her from her Service days through her illness. She has been a shining example for many. We will all miss her.

This is for all of Vee's relatives and friends:

I had already talked to Nanci Gainsforth, Vee's daughter, by phone, but I also wanted to communicate with Vee's brothers, Larry Schlosser (and Delores) and Virgil (and Carol) of Mott, N.D. and Venita Mattis Hettinger, N.D.

I will miss Vee so much. She has been my friend since the early 1980's, and we had many good times together. I know the MS impacted her life so much, but now she is out of the discomfort and any pain she had. Now she is with the Lord, which is what she has wanted for sometime. She would say to me, Why doesn't Got take me home? I want to be with Jesus. So, for that reason, I see this as a blessing for her. In life she knew Jesus as her personal Savior, had invited Him into her heart, and she looked forward to being with Him.

I thank God for Vee's life and for her positive spirit throughout the years, inspite of some very rough times. I thank God that I had the pleasure of spending time with her, and I valued her as my friend.

Well, you are all in my prayers, as I know this is a very hard time for you, as it is for me.

I will try to come up to North Dakota for Vee's service on her birthday, August 18th.

Love,

Virginia Wheeler
Cheyenne, Wyoming
